Historic estate
Perfect for families and groups looking for peace and tranquility with mountain views
Dating back to the 13th century, when it began its journey as a monastery outpost to the Abbaie de l’Escaladieu, the original château boasted 70 metre long, L-shaped cloisters to house the monks, as well as a chapel which still exists today and can be hired as a magnificent events space. There was also a Guard House, with square-shaped tower and 2 impressive vaulted rooms to house the many guards that protected the monastery, a coach house with 2 striking arched doors to allow the horses and carriages to enter and exit the building comfortably. With the main cloisters destroyed by fire, the remaining buildings on the estate were put to use as farm buildings, housing horses, cows, pigs, chickens, as well as farmworkers who worked the extensive lands around the château. Now being sympathetically restored by its current owners, the château can be enjoyed by couples or groups, with accommodation for up to 24 guests on site.
