Welcome to Chateau de Sariac

The Château de Sariac is a former monastery dating back to the 14th century and consists of a collection of buildings that were left after the original monastery was destroyed by fire. We still have the great chapel, former guard houses and watch tower - some of which will become unusual gites in the future.

Located in the north of the beautiful Hautes Pyrenees, the buildings are built in an 80,000 m2 park, with a private fenced garden and swimming pool with terrace.

It is just a 3 minute walk into the village, or a 5 minute drive to the nearest town with restaurants and supermarket.  Absolute peace and tranquility on our 8 acres of land, combined with an abundance of nature and history, and a variety of activities nearby.... what more could you ask for in a holiday destination?

Ali and Howard have been living here since 2020 with their two very happy dogs, Ripley and Jones. After spending much of our lives working with children with special educational needs, we were looking for a special place for families and groups – and we found it here!

In addition to our home, this is a huge labour of love and we anticipate that the complete renovation will take several more years. Howard prides itself on learning traditional techniques and using traditional materials to ensure that everything we do is in harmony with the original buildings.  It is our dream to save this historic property and allow others to enjoy this very special place.

Howard is also a long-time motorcyclist and enjoys off-roading and touring. There are fantastic opportunities for both with the TET 20 minutes away and easy access to the Pyrenees and Spain.

We welcome all types of groups, families with or without special needs and disabilities, anyone looking for peace and quiet in nature - please do not hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to ensure you have the holiday you deserve.

About us

The Gites

Our first gite is called the Manoir and is the main house of the property. With 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms over 2 floors, and boasts a full-length balcony with views of the Pyrenees, as well as a private swimming pool and terrace.

We have recently opened our second Gite, the Gatehouse, after extensive and loving restoration. With its sumptuous master suite and cosy living space, it is ideal for a romantic retreat for 2!

Coming next year, we will open our 3rd gite - a 4 bedroom and 4 bathroom restoration of the old guard tower and guard room.  Steeped in history, this gite will be packed full of original features and will cater for up to 8 people in a unique setting.

“The Perfect Place to Relax and Unwind.  A real find in a truly gorgeous area, where I was able to unwind in the peaceful and beautiful property and it's grounds before heading out to explore the broader region. Dramatic views of the Pyrenees which are about an hour's drive away. Highly recommended."
